The short answer

To connect a custom domain to Lovable, open your project → Settings → Domains and add your domain. Choose automatic setup (powered by Entri, which detects your registrar and updates DNS for you) or manual setup (copy the A record and TXT record Lovable shows into your registrar). Lovable verifies ownership via the TXT record, then generates and installs an SSL certificate automatically. Custom domains require a paid Lovable plan.

How connecting a domain to Lovable works

Lovable takes a custom domain via an A record on the apex plus a TXT record for ownership verification. The automatic path (Entri) detects your DNS provider and writes the records after you authorize it; the manual path has you copy the A and TXT values from Lovable's dashboard into your registrar.

SSL is provisioned automatically once ownership verifies. Two things to know: custom domains require a paid plan, and the domain must have no AAAA record — an IPv6 record can misroute traffic and break setup. Lovable does not publish a fixed A-record IP; it is generated per-domain and shown in your dashboard, so always copy the exact value it displays rather than a value from a third-party guide.

Step by step

  1. Have or buy a domain (search and register on JustDomain.ai), and make sure you're on a paid Lovable plan.
  2. In Lovable, open your project → Settings → Domains and start adding your domain.
  3. Choose automatic (Entri) to let Lovable update DNS for you, or manual to copy the records yourself.
  4. For manual: at your registrar add the A record (root → the IP Lovable shows) and the TXT record (lovable_verify=…) exactly as displayed.
  5. Make sure there are no AAAA records on the domain.
  6. Save and wait for propagation and verification (often a few hours; up to 24–72 hours).
  7. Lovable verifies the TXT record and automatically issues and installs the SSL certificate.
  8. Visit https://yourdomain.com to confirm it's live over HTTPS.

Common gotchas

  • Custom domains require a paid Lovable plan — they aren't on the free tier.
  • Remove any AAAA record — it can misroute traffic and block setup.
  • The TXT value must be exact; a single wrong character fails verification.
  • Use the dashboard's A-record value, not a hardcoded IP from a blog. On Cloudflare, set the record to 'DNS only' (grey cloud) so proxying doesn't interfere.
Questions
In Settings → Domains, add the domain and use automatic setup (Entri) or manual A + TXT records at your registrar.
