How connecting a domain to Softr works

Softr publishes a fixed root A record — @ → 35.158.87.123 — plus a www CNAME pointing to your own custom domain (not to a *.softr.app address). If your registrar doesn't allow @ in an A record, leave the host empty.

SSL is issued automatically once records resolve and the app is published. There's no TXT verification. Softr includes 1 custom domain on all plans (extras are a paid add-on). On Cloudflare, use DNS-only records, not Proxied.

Step by step

1. Have/buy a domain (search and register on JustDomain.ai).
2. In Softr: Settings → Custom Domain → enter your domain (yourdomain.com).
3. At your registrar, add the A record (@ → 35.158.87.123) and the CNAME (www → your custom domain); remove conflicting root A records.
4. If on Cloudflare, set both records to DNS-only (grey cloud).
5. Publish your Softr app to the custom domain; wait for propagation (minutes up to ~48h). The page turns green ('Connected') and SSL is automatic.

Common gotchas

• The www CNAME must point to your own domain, not to {yourapp}.softr.app — a common misconfiguration.
• On Cloudflare, Proxied (orange-cloud) records break verification; switch to DNS-only.
• If the registrar blocks @ for A records, leave the host blank rather than typing @.
• Only 1 custom domain is included on standard plans; extra domains require the add-on.
