Connecting a custom domain to Carrd requires a Pro Standard plan or higher. When you publish and choose the custom-domain option, Carrd shows an A record (root @ → an IP unique to your site) plus a www CNAME pointing back to your bare domain. Add those at your registrar and Carrd issues SSL automatically once the domain initializes (usually within an hour).
Carrd uses one A record on the root (@) pointing to an IP shown in your Carrd dashboard when you set up the domain — copy that value rather than a fixed public one. It also uses a www CNAME pointing back to your bare domain (www → yourdomain.com), which resolves through the A record.
SSL is provisioned automatically once the domain initializes. There's no TXT verification. Custom domains require Pro Standard tier or higher (not the free tier or Pro Lite).
